That out-of-the-box thinking extends to how the show tackles pressing political issues like immigration, reproductive rights, and, of course, the recent election. "Had they not done a process where they wanted to reach out.and read packets from people without representation, I just never would have gotten in the door." " the hiring process happens in this closed bubble.and that little pool of people is very white and very male," says writer and correspondent Ashley Nicole Black, who came to Full Frontal after working at Chicago's Second City theater. In addition to being one of the only late-night shows hosted by a woman on any network or streaming service (there's also Chelsea Handler's Chelseaon Netflix three nights a week), Full Frontal has been applauded for picking its staff from outside the usual networks and inviting new talent into the ranks of the often hard-to-crack late-night TV scene. ![]()
